A college dream, served from scratch
Justin Straube opened Seasonal Grille in June 2010, turning a college idea into a downtown Hastings landmark. More than fifteen years on, The Grille still cooks everything from scratch — every day.
How it started
Justin wanted to give Hastings a restaurant worth lingering in — scratch cooking, fresh ingredients, and a room with real character. The vision hasn't changed since opening day.
The building
The Grille occupies the former Hastings Press building — a 100-plus-year-old corner structure with exposed brick and a custom wooden bar built to feel like they've always been there.
The food
Italian American in spirit — fresh pastas, salads, soups, and seasonal dishes all made in-house. The Kitchen Creations menu rotates with the seasons, so there's always something new.
Making dinner social again
From a quiet weeknight table for two to a five-course seasonal dinner with wines curated by Joshua Lint of Vintage Wines — The Grille gives people a real reason to slow down and enjoy the evening.
